A three days field visit on 19th to 21st January 2019 has been organized by the Department of Environmental Technology covering the practical sessions of the Basic Soil Science and Chemicals in the Environment course modules. Students have engaged with field practical and laboratory experiments gaining exposure to field applications regarding the learnt theoretical knowledge.
Students of the Department of Environmental Technology have visited Teejay Lanka PLC at the Seethawaka Export Processing Zone, Industrial Park, Avissawella on 21st of December 2018. The purpose of this visit was to study the waste management procedures during industrial activities under the Biology for Environmental Technology course module.
A visit to the National Engineering Research and Development Centre (NERD) was conducted on 2nd November 2018 by the Department of Environmental Technology. Students were able to gather practical knowledge on heavy metal analysis under the Chemicals in the Environment Course Module.
A field trip was conducted to Diyasaru Park on 17th, August, 2018 by the Department of Environmental Technology. This was organized for the first year students following the Bachelor of Bios ystems Technology in Environmental Technology to provide field exposure for their Fundamentals of Ecology course module.
