The Industry Consultative Committee (ICC) is one of the regulatory committees of the Faculty of Technology, University Colombo. The inaugural meeting of the ICC was held on 15 November 2019.
The committee is served by twenty leading industry experts representing the industrial disciplines included in the four degree programs offered by the faculty. The Dean/ Faculty of Technology chairs the committee, and all Heads of the Departments, Assistant Registrar, and Senior Assistant Bursar serve the committee. With the industry coordinator’s support, the faculty coordinator ensures the committee’s smooth functioning. The committee holds its term for three years.
The committee’s contribution is expected in aligning curricula with the industry requirements. The committee supports establishing industrial training/ internship opportunities. Industry-related research projects are encouraged, mutually benefiting the industry and the university.
The 5th ICC meeting was successfully held on 14th November 2023 at the Faculty of Technology with the participation of 15 industry members. The Dean/Faculty of Technology, Prof. Ranjana U. K. Piyadasa chaired the meeting.
