Currently, the Faculty of Technology has established several societies namely, Techno Media, Welfare Society, Arts Society, Environmental Technology Society, Sports Club, Innox, Buddhist Society, Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Technology and Hindu Society. Each society organizes a number of events annually which are important to create unity among students and staff members of the Faculty of Technology, University of Colombo. The involvement of students in various societal activities creates a platform to enhance their leadership qualities, innovative skills, group activities and ethical and moral values to produce a well-rounded human being who is prepared to be a leader in the world of Technology. Furthermore, this facilitates academic staff members to identify students with various talents and passions. Overall, societal activities are in line with the desired attributes of a Technology graduate of the Faculty of Technology, University of Colombo and therefore, students are highly encouraged to be members of different societies and involved in different societal activities of the Faculty of Technology, University of Colombo.
